ok well i've been reading all over the internet and wondered if anyone here thinks im emo. well first im a girl. ok i cut my own hair and most of my bangs cover my right eye and i dyed my hair black cuz i really like the color black and sometimes i try to spike it in the back. i usually wear a lot of eyeliner, i wear band tee's, and i have a pair of vans and converse. i cut myself but usually only when im mad or depressed but sometimes i get a little addicted. i play guitar cuz i wanna b in a band soooo bad. my fingernails are black and another color. im not anorexic but im not really fat either. and i always wear a jacket but that's cuz im self concious and have very low self esteem..um and i like bands like hawthorne heights, escape the fate, and a bunch of bands that everyone refers to as emo but i liked em b4 i knew they were emo..and well i think thats it but im not sure...wel plz giv me ur opinion.? i just wanna know cuz ppl say i am but i don't think so really

it sounds like you are. but plz stop cutting urself. try to let go of the rage somehow else. don't get me wrong, i've done it b4 as well, out of hate and sorrow, but after i would do it, it would look so stupid and i'd just get even more mad of the fact that i did it. so i don't anymore. im not emo. i love the music, but i don't cut or look like a total emo. i have short black hair as well w/ bangs to the side, and what? ppl could comb their hair however the hell they want right.? just like what was said by someone up above me somewhere: don't put urself in a box, u r who u r and let it be! you sound like you are but i wouldnt worry about that because you should be happy with who you are, and i have friends who cut their own bangs (i do too) + i wear eyeliner also and a lot of people want to be in a band + just be who you want to be and have more self confidence + i would stop cutting yourself because that hurts you but you sound really nice and i wouldnt worry about that

many people just say that because they like to label things. everything that you just described is exactly what i do ( besides cutting myself) i love bands like my chemical romance, AFI, and hawthorne hights but it doesnt mean that im emo. i have dark black hair and going to get death red highlights. i wear nothing but black, and i am very sarcastic when i talk. people give me a bunch of names emo,goth. so dont feel bad that it happens. if you dont want to be called emo try wearing less black and when you're mad dont cut yourself, try to put all your emotions into music and playing your guitar or what ever your greatest passion is. music wise, my chemical romance is a band that will really save your life.

okay. wow. you seriously need to get a life. stereotypes aren't all what they're cracked up to be.

you really don't cut yourself because of depression if you can just bluntly say it online. most people keep that **** to themselves and are afriad to admitt it. unless they want attention. like you seem to do.

also. all of those bands are HORRIBLE. they have no talent. most of the guitarists don't even KNOW how to play guitar first of all. aside from rooting, thats all the bassists can do. they only reason the get publicity is because no one knows what good music is anymore.

as for the hair style -- why don't you be a little orginal? i've seen tons of people in my school with that haircut, and i get so annoyed with it. seriously. be yourself not someone else.
