How do I get this kind of hair?

I'm looking to change my hair to a more emo/scene kind of style.

I'm a girl. Right now my hair isn't layered or anything. It goes down to about the middle of my back. I don't have bangs. It is parted straight down the middle and it's fairly dark brown. How can I make it more scene/emo-like without dying it? I don't want it to be too extreme either, just something simple that doesn't require a whole lot of maintenance. I know that might be kind of hard to find because generally scene/emo hair is pretty short, dyed, and sort of extreme and usually needs quite a bit of maintenance. But if anyone has some ideas I'd really like to know! Thanks!

If i were you...

(i'm very emotional when it comes to cutting hair =]

i'd part my hair so it become a side part... and don't make it completely straight.. kind of like wonky and all over the place

and if you have a curling iron, flick your hair in and out randomly (trust me, if done correctly, it looks AWESOME

Well i would ask for a short cut , say shoulder length, with lots of layers and texterized with a razor, and then be sure to get some texterizing pomade or cream to use on the ends of your hair(not your roots, it will look greasy) to bring out the definition in your texterized layers. I have been a hairstylist for 6 years. Good luck!
