Don't imitate. Be your own person kiddo.
However the hell you want.
sliightly long, very dark/black... just let it go. put some hair paste or wax in it... not too much... and that's it.
Hair Putty, is your best bet.
Since a normal 'emo/scene' cut is a flat front and a somewhat spiked back, just wet your hair and put a dime-sized amount of putty into your hands and rub it, distributing evenly throughout your hair. Then go back through and take it to the angle you want it (spikey top, spikey back, out of bed look..etcetc)
Flat-iron the bangs and you're set.
Be yourself. Being emo doesn't mean having emo hair and dressing in all black and painting your nails black. That's just being a poser, which is so not emo.
But if you insist, get bangs that cover the side of your eye, and make those bangs long. Make your hair jet black, unless you want some highlights in it, which is okay. Or watch all those emo videos of emo bands playing emo songs, and you can copy their hairstyles.
But I suggest just being yourself. Do your hair whatever the hell you want.
Emo hair? Do you have any idea how RIDICULOUS you sound. I suppose I know what you mean though. Part your hair to one side and get it cut to where you've got a bash.

search scene in google images find one or maybe 5 =]] that you absouletly like and take them to a hair place they'll pick the best one for you=]

long-ish bangs around... maybe 5 inches swooping across forehead.. past eyebrows a little or around there. dyed black. the back of hair not so long. kind of short,..no hair sticking outwards, so around 1-1 1/2 inches use a lil gel.. if you need. mostly just bangs longer.. side.. mediium

It's long-ish and shaggy, and pretty freekin hawt. People always want to touch and/or play with emo hair. And it mainly works with a hot emo or emo looking boy, but mind you, the person MUST BE HOT!!! And if your not, then im very sorry, but look on the bright side, if you get emo hair, it pretty much automatically makes you hot.
